Created in 1994, Gran Ricardo has represented the finest of our winemaking. Conceived in honor of Monte Xanic’s co-founder, Ricardo Hojel, this high-end wine has earned multiple international awards, recognized as Mexico’s most distinguished wine.
It’s the ultimate expression of Mexican winemaking — refined, character-driven, and built for longevity (+25 years).
Its production is artisanal: every cluster and berry is hand-selected, followed by a cold pre-fermentation maceration for five days and a post-fermentation maceration for eight days. Finally, it rests for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
Born from the essence of the Guadalupe and Ojos Negros valleys, it captures grapes cultivated under a Mediterranean climate.

Gran Ricardo unfolds with richness and depth: black cherry, currant, blackberry, and raspberry intertwine with violet blossoms in a harmonious blend of fruit and floral notes. Elegant hints of rosemary, clove, eucalyptus, black and white pepper, oak, dark chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, and balsamic nuances add layers of complexity.
On the palate, it’s bold yet refined — silky tannins, full-bodied texture, and a lasting finish.
